Located 75 miles from Denver in the heart of Summit County, Copper Mountain offers 126 trails spread over it’s mammoth 2,465 skiable acres of steeps, wide open bowls, tree-filled glades and gentle beginner areas. One of the mountain’s newest features is Woodward at Copper, featuring The Barn, a 19,400-square-foot comprehensive ski and snowboard freestyle training facility complete with indoor artificial snow jumps, jib lines, foam pits, skate features and Olympic fly-bed trampolines. Indoor and outdoor training programs allow riders to learn tricks in a controlled environment before taking them out onto the snow. Copper Mountain also boasts a long list of kudos for its on-snow features. For the 2010-11 season, Freeskier Magazine ranked Copper as third best halfpipe and number one in the “Best for Progression” category in its Top 5 Terrain Parks poll; SKI magazine’s reader survey gave Copper a Top Ten Parks ranking; and for the third year in a row, TransWorld Snowboarding named Copper a ‘Top Ten Pipe’ in North America with the Main Vein Superpipe pulling down the number eight spot.
