    Park Qualifier Wraps Up, Live Finals Webcast begins 12:30PST Saturday

    Men’s Park Qualifiers for the second stop of The North Face Park and Pipe Open Series at Northstar, California successfully concluded today under sunny, spring-like Lake Tahoe conditions. Fifty-three male competitors divided into three separate heats, consisting of two runs (best score counts) battled it out for the twenty slots into tomorrows park semi-finals to compete with the five AFP pre-qualified athletes.

    Northstar, California’s terrain park crew built an excellent course for The North Face Park and Pipe Open Series competitor’s to perform on. The park consisted of two different rail lines on top, both having two rail features. Then the course lead into a quick three-pack of table top jumps, a thirty-five foot jump, forty-five foot jump, and concluding with a fifty-foot step-over table top.

    The competition kicked off with a special treat, 11-year old Aspen Spora, of Northstar, forerunning the park course showing all the competitors just how talented the next generation of freeskiers truly are.

    Heat One top finisher, Spencer Milbocker of Bittersweet started his run with a smooth misty 450 off the second rail feature and then into a series of left and right spins off the thee jumps.

    In heat two, Breckenridge, Colorado’s Cody Cirillo skied a nearly flawless run over the bottom three jumps. Cody started with a switch 9, to forward 9 and concluding his run with switch 10 oozing with style.

    Finally in heat number three and concluding today’s competition, Conner Bennett of Bachelor, OR combo’ed his way through the rail section and then attacked the jump line with a very smooth switch rodeo 540, to forward 9 to a smooth switch 9 off the fifty-five foot final table jump.

    Saturday, we continue The North Face Park and Pipe Open Series with our Men’s and Women’s park semi-finals and finals, beginning at 12:30 PST. Then on Sunday we conclude the stop at Northstar with our Men’s and Women’s Halfpipe semi-finals and finals.
