    Campbell, Tsubota win Northstar Slopestyle

    The North Face Park and Pipe Open Series at Northstar, California Men’s and Women’s Park Finals

    Twenty-two male and eleven female competitors battled it out today for the park semi-finals and finals at Northstar, California for The North Face Park and Pipe Open Series.

    Taking top honors for the men was east coaster James Campbell of Sugarloaf, Maine who delivered a near flawless run top to bottom, which consisted of great combos on the rail section into a right-side cork 900 tail, to a switch left-side double rodeo 900, and capping his run off with a left double cork 1080 high mute scoring a 89.00.

    “James perfectly executed the hardest run of the day, hands down. He was solid on both rails, had spins both ways and back to back doubles,” stated head judge and AFP General Manager, Steele Spence.

    Rounding out the men’s podium in second place was Spencer Milbocker of Bittersweet, Michigan scoring an 86.2 and Cody Cirillo of Breckenridge, Colorado in third with an 85.00.

    On the women’s side of things, from Whistler Blackcomb, BC, The North Face athlete Yuki Tsubota dominated the field with her technical skiing throughout the park. Yuki successfully slid both rail features and
    then proceeded to link a right-side 360 mute, to a left-side cork 720 mute, and finished her run with a left-side 540 mute, scoring an 87.2. In second place, was Catherine Warchal, of Camelback, Pennsylvania, laying down a crowd pleasing double front flip receiving a score of 80.80. In third was Taylor Lundquist of Park City, Utah receiving an 85.00.

    The North Face Park and Pipe Open Series from Northstar, California continues tomorrow (Sunday) with men’s and women’s pipe semi-finals and finals streaming live on the web at 12:30pm PST on www.TheNorthFacePPOS.com and www.Newschoolers.com.
